Spring in a Cup: 4 Spring Coffee Recipes You’ll Love.
We all love spring.
I loved autumn, but as I grew older and wiser, I realized I loved every season for its own beauty.
I associate spring with my blooming home garden, my mother’s beautiful smile and her smell.
Those airy childhood days full of playing, laughter, food and happiness when I think of spring.
My mother is my spring.
When I am in her vicinity, I bloom like an English rose.
Everything becomes beautiful…
Flowery.
Fragrant.
Serene.
So inspired by this incredible feeling, I am writing these spring-inspired coffee recipes.
So you can have these soft feelings on a light spring morning.
And while you sip these, slow down, take a deep breath and…
Let go of all the worries and think of how beautiful you are and how beautiful it is just to breathe.
Why Spring Coffee Feels Special
Spring is a promise that, after every heavy winter, comes a soft, floral era.
It is full of flowers and beautiful scents.
Whether it be lavender and its soothing taste, or rose with its mesmerising fragrance and romantic touch to life.
Spring makes everything calm, fresh and new.
And coffee in spring?
As the days grow longer and brighter, coffee takes on a new personality.
We can make it lighter, fresher, and perfect for slow spring mornings.
So let’s brighten your mornings with drinks that feel as light as the spring itself.
Below are your four spring coffee recipes with seasonal flavors, a little joy, and the calm of romanticising your life with coffee.
Spring Coffee Recipes
Spring Coffee Recipe 1: Lavender Honey Latte
This is a perfect drink for a spring morning.
Lavender Honey Latte is floral with lavender and honey that calms you.
And coffee gives you that beautiful lifting energy.
If you’re in the mood for a slow morning with lots of calm and light energy, make a Lavender Honey Latte.
Ingredients:
- You’ll need 1 shot of espresso
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp culinary lavender syrup (food grade)
- 1 or ½ tsp honey, depending on how sweet you prefer your latte.
- Lavender powder (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: First, you need to make an Espresso. You can make it with ground coffee, coffee pods, or in a mokapot. It’s better to use whatever tool you have at hand.
Step 2: Heat milk and then froth it with a frothing wand. If you don’t have one, you can easily get one on Amazon.
Step 3: Add lavender syrup to your Espresso. Start by adding ½ lavender syrup.
Don’t overdo it. It should give a subtle flavour and taste, or it can ruin the taste.
If it’s giving a serene fragrance, you’re done. If you feel the need to add more, you can.
After adding the syrup to the espresso, give it a slow stir until mixed.
Step 4: Add milk. You can choose any kind of milk you like, whole milk, oat milk or almond milk.
If you want to make your drink purple, add lavender powder to the milk and mix.
Step 5: Drizzle honey and give it a swirl. To give it a spring-like touch, sprinkle tiny dried lavender leaves on top.
Because floral lavender evokes spring fields full of lavender leaves and sunny spring mornings.
Spring Coffee Recipe 2: Iced Honey Cinnamon Latte
Just as spring is light, this spring coffee recipe is light, refreshing, and slightly sweet.
Cinnamon gives coffee a unique and sweet taste that can be enjoyed in every season, but hits different in spring.
Ingredients:
- Cold brew or espresso
- Ice cubes
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- Milk
Instructions:
Step 1: Brew an espresso, or get your cold brew out.
Both work in this recipe, but I usually choose espresso over cold brew for a latte.
Step 2: Add honey to the coffee and stir it until fully combined.
(This is an optional twist, but if you prefer, add a vanilla drop to your espresso.)
Step 3: Pour your coffee into a glass with ice cubes.
Step 4: Pour milk into that glass and sprinkle cinnamon on the top until the surface is fully covered to have an aesthetically pleasing cup.
Spring Coffee Recipe 3: Rose Cappuccino
An elegant and luxurious recipe to slow down and romanticise your spring mornings.
If you’re like me, who loves pink and red, roses and their fragrance, this simple spring coffee recipe will make your day a little extra special.
Ingredients:
- Espresso
- Steamed milk
- ½ tsp rose syrup
- Rose powder
Instructions:
Step 1: Brew a shot of espresso.
Step 2: Add rose syrup to the espresso.
Stir until fully combined and pour the coffee into a china cup.
Step 4: Add rose powder to the milk and then create milk foam with a frothing wand.
Step 5: Add that milk foam on the top of the coffee and sprinkle with dried rose petals.
Spring Coffee Recipe 4: Pistachio Cream Latte
This recipe is slightly indulgent and tastes like spring but is a bit reminiscent of cosy winter nights.
A perfect spring coffee recipe with the softness and sweetness of spring.
Ingredients:
- Espresso
- Milk
- Pistachio syrup or paste
- Cream (whipped)
Instructions:
Step 1: Brew espresso and combine pistachio syrup with it.
Take two tablespoons if it has a light flavor and 1 tablespoon if it has a strong one.
Step 2: Pour espresso into a glass or jar. Add milk to it and combine.
Step 3: Now, add whipped cream of your choice.
Keep it minimal, just for the flavour and aesthetics. Don’t go down the sugar rabbit hole.
Step 4: Sprinkle pistachio shavings on top and serve.
There’s a distinction in the recipe.
If you have pistachio paste instead of the syrup, try this recipe:
Step 1: Brew espresso and pour it into a jar.
And add milk, and combine.
Step 2: Add pistachio paste and give it one or two slow swirls.
Step 3: Add whipped cream on top. (Keep it minimal, but according to your preference.)
Step 4: Sprinkle pistachio shavings on top and serve.
